American Association of University Women
AAUW: Tenacious & Trailblazing — Advocating for Women & Girls Since 1881 & Into the Future!
The American Association of University Women Walla Walla (AAUW-WW) branch was chartered in 1921. Our branch has been recognized nationally and state-wide for our active participation in our community, as well as for the growth and retention of our membership. As of September 2024, we have 269 members and are the largest AAUW branch in Washington State!

We lead annual fundraising events in our community to support college scholarships for women of the Walla Walla Valley who are pursuing STEM careers and those returning to college after a break or disruption. We also provide grants to local organizations for community educational projects and initiatives that align with our local mission, which is:
Advocating for equity, education, and opportunities for local women and girls to achieve their full potential.
Two of our most widely celebrated events are the Fall Kitchen Tour and our Annual Book Sale, both of which have been successful in raising funds for and community awareness about AAUW.
Membership in AAUW is open to those with an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university. AAUW-WW also extends participation to "Friends of AAUW" for individuals who strongly support our mission but do not meet the educational criteria.
